Hot chocolate
I love-love-love hot chocolate.
I even love C-store hot chocolate, which I’m sure has not one single healthy ingredient in it, and I would faint if I knew the calorie count.
Oddly enough, my least-favorite hot chocolate comes from coffee houses, where I find it’s usually bland with little chocolate flavor.
I’ve cut back on my hot-chocolate drinking in recent years because when you buy Swiss Miss or Nestle’s, let’s be honest, it’s a lot of calories that could be better spent elsewhere. And if you buy the stuff that’s 25 calories per packet, well, rusty water tastes better.
I may have to start making it again, but no more tearing open a packet for me.
Instead, I want to use these recipes, which uses ingredients like prunes.
The one I want to start with uses maple syrup. Doesn’t that sound good?
