Movie previews 3/15
Two movies opening in Sioux Falls, and both leave me yawning.
The Call is placed by Abigail Breslin as a kidnap victim and received by Halle Berry, playing a 911 operator. So far, so good. But sooner or later you know Berry is going to put down that phone and go out on her own to save Breslin, and I just don’t see how they’re going to make that work.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone stars Steve Carrell (hooray) and Jim Carrey (big shrug). It also stars Steve Buscemi and Alan Arkin, and yeah, OK, I’m getting more intrigued. Carrell and Buscemi are magicians who are David Copperfield. Carrey is Criss Angel. Their clash looks more amusing than I expected, but after seeing Carrell and Buscemi in Siegfried and Roy-style makeup, I’ll never wear foundation aain.
