Movie previews 12/19

If you’re looking for a movie that makes you feel dark and depressed, it’s a good thing “12 Years a Slave” is still in town, because all the the new titles opening this week sound awfully good natured.

Take the headlines in this week’s Link:

Ron Burgundy takes Manhattan

No trick to ‘Hustle,’ just good, chaotic fun

Dinosaurs' is smart, fun

Mr. Banks' is delightful

See what I mean? You feel better already, don’t you? Unless “Saving Mr. Banks” goes into the way Walt Disney treated union workers during a strike, there’s not a dismal message among that quartet.

Also, looking a little ahead (but not too far away), “It’s a Wonderful Life” will have two showings on Christmas Eve, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., at both Cinemark locations in Sioux Falls.
